Incorporated as an Ontario not-for-profit corporation in 2013, the Sun Parlour Folk Music Society (SPFMS) exists to:


  1. -provide diverse high quality music programming that is accessible, non-political, family and community oriented and volunteer driven

  2. -increase the awareness of folk music through concerts and the annual Kingsville Folk Music Festival

  3. -provide a safe environment for children and youth to experience folk music performance, mentoring and volunteering


The Society volunteer board of directors have designated a portion of the proceeds from Society events to providing financial assistance to regional youth experiencing financial difficulty in order to experience the arts (scholarships, lessons, workshops, mentoring), the MAY FUNd (Music and Arts for Youth).

The Sun Parlour Folk Music Society is a not-for-profit Corporation run by a volunteer group bringing the best in live acoustic music to the region. The Society is dedicated to promoting folk music throughout the region through the concert series and annual folk festival. A portion of the proceeds from the Festival are designated for The MAY FUNd (Music and Arts for Youth) a project developed by the Society that provides financial assistance to area youth to access the arts through workshops, lessons, mentoring sessions and an annual scholarship. All Society events are free to ages 16 and under to encourage participation and volunteerism.
